About ASIP

Toward Creating “Locally Optimized Global Human Resources”

A global society is not a homogenized society in which local and regional diversities are lost, but a society in which people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and languages cknowledge one another’s differences and work together on a global scale. For this reason, we do not loosely focus on the term “world-class;” rather, we recognize that it is important for each of us to have an interest in a particular regional area and gain practical skill while maintaining a global perspective. This is what we mean when we speak about “locally optimized global human resources.” The Area Studies Innovation Program (ASIP) aims to foster global human resources who can contribute their knowledge and experiences to the development of Japanese companies/organizations active in the world’s emerging nations.
